Recruitment agencies: are there extra ways you can help your candidates?
Recruitment agencies: are there extra ways you can help your candidates?

It may be something some agencies do already, but given that a recent survey, involving over 8,000 jobseekers, showed 80% were eager to improve their employment prospects via further training or education, providing impartial advice in this regard would not only help the candidates but also the quality of job offerings for placement.

The importance of enhancing a candidate's appeal is something, says the survey, that's more important now than it was five years ago. As the job market moves forward, the 'supply and demand' equation may eventually tip the other way, similar to its position before the recession, where employers were crying out for staff because they were scarce on the ground.

It's a sentiment that's already being heard in today's headlines, but rather than companies complaining of a low volume of candidates, they report that it's the low volume of appropriate skills at issue. Perhaps all the more reason, then, that most job seekers are looking to brush up on the skills they hold.

If looking for an impartial view on your money and investments, an unbiased financial adviser is the professional we all look to. Less available is the same unbiased support and advice for people looking to improve their skills, i.e. which skills, and to what aim/employment goal? Careers advice used to be the norm in schools but it's something candidates need to seek out when they're older. Most common is the 'career coach', but who else is as ideally positioned as the recruitment agency?

More than advice on C.V. writing, or suggestions regarding a current job application, offering direction on candidates' long-term career goals may not be what every agency offers, yet developing this ongoing relationship would not only benefit the job seekers but the agency and their clients, too: better skills; better job roles; more commission. It takes a lot to stand out nowadays – true for both candidate and agency.

An attractive, well-built website certainly goes some way to this aim, something Fast Recruitment Website Design can certainly provide. Contact us for advice on your specific needs and a free, no obligation quote.
