Speculation has been rife for some time that Google for Jobs is coming to the UK and soon. But what does this mean for our clients?
Well, if you want to maximise the visibility of your jobs in the Google search engine post roll-out, you'll need to ensure all of your job postings can be found and indexed by Google's webcrawler.
In practice, this means using their structured data markup within your job postings. Adding structured data makes your job postings eligible to appear in Google Search results and is done within the HTML of each job posting.
Before you panic, we don't expect our clients to undertake this work on their own or even dig deeper into the technicalities (although the more curious amongst you may be interested in this post https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/job-posting).
In fact, Fast Recruitment Websites has been working behind the scenes since last summer to ensure that all jobs posted on our platform will be Google for Jobs compliant before the UK roll-out occurs.
We've now successfully tested our system and are beginning the deployment to our client base alongside our GDPR updates for recruitment web design.
So, whilst it's true that Google for Jobs may have a huge and, as yet, unknown impact on the recruitment sector and online job searching as a whole, you will be in a position to benefit from the changes by integrating with Google for Jobs from the start!
