GDPR for Recruitment Agencies

As the deadline for compliance with the incoming General Data Protection Regulation approaches, many recruitment businesses are beginning to ask us how to tackle this issue within their organisation and specifically in relation to their website.

It is clear that many of our clients have not yet implemented a strategic plan of action which is consistent with the findings of a recent survey by Blake Morgan, which found that nine out of ten businesses are still not ready and only 10% of companies have updated their privacy policies to comply with the new law.

As you will no doubt be aware, the strict level of compliance demanded by the EU in terms of data governance, regulatory compliance and information security must be adhered to by businesses if they want to avoid fines and other penalties.

As a leading provider of websites to the recruitment industry, we take our responsibilities in this area seriously and we are very pleased to be working in conjunction with Lawspeed, not only to ensure the compliance of our own product, but also to provide our clients with access to exclusive discounts on consultation services in all areas of GDPR implementation.

In terms of website compliance, our own 8 point checklist covers

1) Positive Opt-In & Verifiable Consent
2) Withdrawal of Consent
3) Pseudonimisation of Data
4) Data Breach Reporting Protocol
5) Revised Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
6) Data Portability & Data Access Requests
7) Erasure of Data
8) Cookies Consent

Fast Recruitment Websites ensured the full compliance of its software in all these areas by the end of January 2018. We are currently in the process of rolling out the updates to our client base, well ahead of the May 25th deadline. All our newly built websites are developed on the updated, compliant platform.

If you have any questions or concerns around GDPR and would like to discuss how we are helping our clients to prepare, why not give us a call on 01302 288 591 and speak to our designated Data Protection Officer, James Squires, for more details.
